Every now and then I come across a venue, product or service I think brides and grooms to be should know about. This week I found out about the Woodbury Hall.
Woodbury is a little settlement about 7km out of Geraldine in South Canterbury on the way to (but not too far away from) the beautiful Peel Forest area.
There’s not a lot in Woodbury… but there is a hall. A remarkably well appointed hall. You can cater for up to 240 people (I’m sure 240 would be a wee bit of a squeeze for a sit down wedding reception, but very comfortable for even 150 guests). It has an excellent kitchen with plenty of space and equipment for your caterers (including three ovens and a commercial dish washer). As well as a bar area with its own refrigeration, three woodburners for heating (including the firewood), and a set of tables and chairs (although I’m sure you could hire others if you had a different look in mind)… all this and more for around $500 plus $120 bond (assuming you want a day for set up a day for your wedding and a day for cleanup).

And I swear that while I’m super enthusiastic about Woodbury Hall (compared to some I’ve seen, this is a seriously good hall!) I’m not on the hall payroll and they don’t even know I’m writing this.
