Here’s something interesting… Woodbury Hall

Every now and then I come across a venue, product or service I think brides and grooms to be should know about. This week I found out about the Woodbury Hall.

Woodbury is a little settlement about 7km out of Geraldine in South Canterbury on the way to (but not too far away from) the beautiful Peel Forest area.

There’s not a lot in Woodbury… but there is a hall. A remarkably well appointed hall. You can cater for up to 240 people (I’m sure 240 would be a wee bit of a squeeze for a sit down wedding reception, but very comfortable for even 150 guests). It has an excellent kitchen with plenty of space and equipment for your caterers (including three ovens and a commercial dish washer). As well as a bar area with its own refrigeration, three woodburners for heating (including the firewood), and a set of tables and chairs (although I’m sure you could hire others if you had a different look in mind)… all this and more for around $500 plus $120 bond (assuming you want a day for set up a day for your wedding and a day for cleanup).

All information about Woodbury Hall including photos, hire cost and a calendar of available dates is available online at http://www.woodburyhall.co.nz/hall.html

And I swear that while I’m super enthusiastic about Woodbury Hall (compared to some I’ve seen, this is a seriously good hall!) I’m not on the hall payroll and they don’t even know I’m writing this.

Wherever you choose to get married, congratulations and happy planning!

And if you’re planning to get married around Geraldine… or anywhere else in South Canterbury, the Mackenzie Country, Mt Cook or North Otago and you’re in the market for a celebrant, I’d love to hear from you. You’ll find all my contact details on the contacts tab on my home page.
